THE QUIET HOURS
The 2 AM Epilogue
I fell in love with writing almost by accident.
As a teenager at boarding school, I was required to read one book a month to improve my writing skills. Writing was the one subject I struggled with. Math, physics, chemistry? Those made sense to me. Words took a little longer.
Then I moved to another country, and loneliness changed that. I started writing because I needed somewhere to put everything I was feeling. I became obsessed with finding the right words for things I didn’t always know how to say out loud.
Some of these stories are mine. Some belong, in pieces, to people I’ve been close to throughout my life. They span nearly two decades, but all come from the same place: sleepless nights when something refused to leave my head until I put it on the page.
No worries, though. Once it’s out of my brain and onto the page, we don’t lose any sleep.

THE QUIET HOURS
Stories from the sleepless nights.
